P.E. and School Sport Provision
St Peter and St Paul's has a real commitment to delivering high quality physical education and school sport. Every child participates in at least two hours of quality physical activity every week and are encouraged to join in at least one extra-curricular activity.
Pupils are provided with a range of sporting opportunities at playtimes and lunchtimes to join in supervised games such as football, cricket, tennis and other multi-skills linked to traditional playground activities. Each academic year we hold inter school competitions, these include cricket, football and running. Take a look at our PE Curriculum page for regular updates

In Physical Education the children take part in a wide variety of activities, completing one lesson inside and one outside. We firmly believe that given opportunities to take part in a range of activities, children will start to develop the life skills of empathy, resilience and meeting a challenge, in addition to developing higher aspirations for themselves. These skills are further enhanced when outside clubs such Accrington Stanley, Lancashire Cricket and Sports Cool establish strong links with the school and further provided opportunities for pupils to take part in out of school sport.
This year our KS2 classes are given the opportunity to take part in weekly swimming lessons at Accrington Academy. These lessons are used to either enhance able swimmers capabilities or ensure that all children are safe/confident around water and are able to swim a minimum of 25 metres.
Sports Co-ordinator
Mrs Ferguson (Reception teacher) is our Subject Leader for PE and co-ordinates matches and competitions that our children are involved with. As part of the Sports Partnership we take part in inter schools netball, football, cross country, cricket and orienteering amongst other things.
