The Role of the Governing Body
Our Governors play an important role in a variety of ways including:
- They ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction.
- Hold the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and pupils and the performance management of staff.
- Oversee the financial performance of the school and make sure money is well spent.
Other roles include:
- Appointment of staff
- Forming school policies
- Setting standards for behaviour and discipline
- Making sure school buildings are welcoming and safe
