Governors

The Role of the Governing Body

 

Our Governors play an important role in a variety of ways including:

  • They ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction.
  • Hold the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and pupils and the performance management of staff.
  • Oversee the financial performance of the school and make sure money is well spent.

Other roles include:

  • Appointment of staff
  • Forming school policies
  • Setting standards for behaviour and discipline
  • Making sure school buildings are welcoming and safe
