Early Help is described by the Early Intervention Foundation (EIF) as 'taking action as soon as possible to tackle problems for children and families before they become more difficult to reverse'. This definition informs the work that we do with children, young people and families.

School Early Help Offer
We are here to support our families as best we can and sometimes this is just listening and making suggestions of their next steps in finding the support that is needed at that particular time.

Early Help Assessment

Occasionally, families may have more complex needs and an Early Help Assessment is needed to determine 'the right help' at that time. Parents will be invited into school to discuss any difficulties and the assessment will be completed together with a member of our team. 

After completing a Children and Families assessment with the families the CAF Link Worker will identify what the difficulties are and work with children, young people and their families to put together a package of support to ensure the right support is offered at the right time.

It might be that one professional or service can help or that the family need a range of different professionals at different times. This is known as Team around the Family (TAF).

The school nurse can be contacted for any support with medical issues or concerns that present themselves at home.

Children and Family Wellbeing offer a wealth of information and offer local support programmes which cover a number of different issues parents may face. There is a local children's centre in Rishton which can be accessed by our school families.

New to You Uniform

We have a selection of good quality uniform which is available for families to access in the school porch and on occasions where we are aware a family may be struggling, we send items home for them.

Foodbank

At St Peter and St Paul's Church there is a foodbank which can be accessed as needed. If we are aware of any families who are in need of food we signpost them to church or find items for them which are needed.
