Year 2 - Mrs Crossley
Year 2's Christmas Wish
Welcome to Year 2
Hello I am Mrs Crossley and I have the privilege of teaching Year 2 for the next academic year at St Peter and St Paul’s Primary School.
I am also the school Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator which involves working with children and families regarding any additional needs.
Children should complete the homework booklet with a selection of tasks given out at the beginning of each half term. All tasks should be completed over the half term and returned back on the last week before the half term ends.
Spelling investigations will also be sent home at the start of each half term. These will be at the back of the homework booklet. The spelling focus will link to the phonics sessions the children will be taking part in during the week. Children should also practice the high frequency words in their homework booklet.
In Year 2, we read on a daily basis. We use our book corner, look at books linked to our topic and read regularly in a guided reading group. We also have a class story time at the end of every day. Reading is really important to us. It is vital that children keep this reading going in their own time, to help them develop even further. Please encourage your child to read a few pages each night.
Reading books are changed every Monday and Thursday.
Library books are changed every Wednesday.
PE. is on Wednesday and Thursday. Please make sure that your child has their ear rings removed and PE kit in school.
PE kit consists of :
- White T-shirt
- Black shorts
Please make sure your childs name is in all of their uniform, PE kit and coat.
Your child will need to bring a plastic bottle filled with fresh water each day as our class often gets quite warm.
Fruit is provided for everychild in Key Stage One
Lunch Time Prayer
For every cup and plate full,
Lord make us truely grateful.
End of Day Prayer
At the end of the day we stop and say,
Thank you for our beautiful day.
We have worked hard and tried our best,
Please God help us sleep and rest.
